Assuming a state of zen-like calm

I will try to remember that humanity in general is as thick as two short planks, and about as much use as a thimbleful of water in the flaming pits of Hell. I will also remember some of my mother's best advice. The world isn't made up of nice people.
I will lower my expectations of my imperfect peers. They cannot be blamed for all of their shortcomings.
Having mentioned in the previous meme post that what I most dislike is willful ignorance, thoughtlessness and ingratitude, and that one of my main flaws is taking things too seriously, I will therefore try and take these things less personally. People are like this, true, but they don't do it solely to Piss Me Off. I will therefore try harder to ignore these flaws when the people around me are acting in such a matter - even when they take it to such an extent that they'd be a shoo-in for a gold medal in the combined willful ignorance, thoughtlessness and ingratitude Olympics.
I will remember that even when someone tells you they'll get back to you by a certain time, there's a damn good chance they won't. It's not my fault that they're incapable of doing their job properly, and, if anything goes wrong, it's perfectly acceptable to leave them to clear up the resulting mess.
*sigh*
I should never have bothered getting out of bed this morning.
